ADRIANO GALLIANI

“Things are going very well this year. The third and fourth placed teams lost this weekend and the top spots are up for grabs. It makes no sense to talk about what a great player Ibrahimovic is, everyone can see that. I’m happy with Mesbah and Emauelson’s performances. The new players are integrating themselves well in the team.
Mexes has a lot of presence, a big physique and he’s a champion. President Berlusconi said to me that Emanuelson reminds him of Massaro because he’s very flexible. Urby did well tonight like he did the other night in the Italian cup.
Ibra hit a great strike right in the top corner. He’s extraordinary, like Van Basten. Nocerino’s goal was admirable, his seventh of the season after arriving this summer. It seems we’re starting the second half of the season in a positive fashion. Maxi Lopez has pleased our fans because he waited four days for the club and showed that his attachment to the club.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be in my office and I’ll be there until 7o’clock on 31 January. I’m almost positive that Maxi Lopez will be the final ‘z’ of our transfer window, but who knows that the future may bring?”

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

“We didn’t make the best of starts and that wasn’t helped by Thursday’s game or the pitch. Ibra’s goal helped things along, but we were growing by then. Mesbah added to what he had already showed on Thursday even though he had just come back from injury. Seedorf and Emanuelson also did well. It’s never good to cry about injuries, I have players here who can play a full game every three days. Thiago Silva? He should be back for the game against Lazio.”

ANTONIO NOCERINO

“I’m fine, I feel good. The important thing is your health and if I’m playing that means I’m well. The more I play the better I feel. I don’t feel tired. I get enough rest and I eat well. It also helps to win as when you’re winning you don’t feel tired.
It’s thanks to my team mates if I score. Ibra set me up well today. I saw ‘strike’ written on the ball. Its fun to play with these team mates and you can see that. I’m a simple person and I get on with everyone and I think you can see that on the pitch. When you’re at Milanello it’s like being at home. There are people who work behind the scenes, they do everything for us and all we have to do is play. I send my best to Merkel, Cassano, Rino, Aquilani, Flamini, Pato and Boateng because we need all of them and they’re all important. We’ll be waiting for them with open arms. Juventus are having a great season, they have a well organised game plan and they have a coach who is the team’s number one fan and the players see themselves reflected in that. But there’s still a ways to go, the important thing is to stay attacked to the top of the table and give our all in the head to head match.
Of my seven goals, my favourite is the third against Parma when Cassano gave me the pass to score on 90’, that’s was the best.”

MARK VAN BOMMEL

“It was a tough game as we had little space to play or game. Ibra’s goal opened up the game. It was an amazing free kick. He’s fundamental for our game. These are three important points for us. I hope I’ll score sooner or later, but it’s not so important. First we have to win and then I’ll try and score. Emanuelson did well on the right, he’s played well in training this season and he can basically play wherever he wants to. I’m not thinking about Arsenal, it’s an important game and we know that but right now we’re thinking about Lazio, about the league and we always think about the next game coming. Arsenal are a tough team but we’ll have time to think about them further on. Merkel is a good guy. He did well at Genoa for 5-6 months. It’s important for young players to play every week and he could do that there. Mentally, he’s strong.”

IGNAZIO ABATE

“We’ve a big month ahead of us. We’ll have to try and get through it unharmed and we have all the cards to do just that. All the games are important. Inter lost at Lecce and no one was expecting that. It could be a decisive month for the league. We showed a balanced performance. It wasn’t easy to find openings, but we struck at the right moment.”

DJAMEL MESBAH

“We had a good game. Ibra’s free kick opened things up. Cagliari took to the pitch well then they had to stretch themselves and it was easier for us. It was an important game and we got the win. Now we’re thinking of Wednesday. I’ve been giving my all since day one to be good enough for my team mates. I have a lot to do, I have to grow but I have faith and all the staff are helping me to express myself as best I can. I’m playing for a team that’s fighting for the title. T the start it was a bit strange for me. Lecce won today so they even gave us a hand. The start of February is very important, we have to try and win all of our games. We have the potential to do it. It’s the other teams that should be scared of us.”

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI at the Press Conference

“We’ll go into this month calm, knowing that in this month we have almost all the head to head matches and knowing that it’ll be a decisive mix of Champions League, Serie A and the Italian cup. We only found out about Merkel this evening and I haven’t spoken with the club. Playing every three days, it’s hard to keep the intensity levels high for the whole game but Ibra changed the game tonight. It’s tough to play against us as we concede very little space. Cagliari played well for the first half an hour but when we took the lead it got more difficult. The league is still long and it was important, even fundamental to win tonight to put some space between us and the third, fourth, fifth placed teams. But we have all the head to head games still to come and they can change things. The end of February is when you can start to see things a bit clearer. For Wednesday, we’ll have Thiago Silva and Antonini back, who had a fever this evening. With the arrival of Maxi Lopez, we’re alright up front.”
